In the Land of the Kunas

The Kunas are one of the three main groups of indigenous peoples of Panama. Most of the Kunas live in the region, also called the San Blas district, or Kuna Yala, along the north coast of Panama. Literally "Kuna Yala" means Kuna Land. The San Blas region is the legal name of the region, but the Kuna General Congress has requested the Panamanian government to officially change the name of the region to Kuna Yala.
